Parker “PJ” Ramirez Memorial Foundation
The Second Annual PJ Ramirez Memorial Golf Tournament and Luncheon was held on January 17, 2014, the day of Parker’s 11th birthday. It was a bright, clear and warm day as 90 golfers prepared to tee off at Costa del Sol golf course in Mission Viejo. An opening prayer by our friend and Pastor Sam Lewis gave us the proper send off. After the golf, over 140 people joined us for lunch at All Star Pizza also in Mission Viejo. While it was a bittersweet day for us, it was a great tribute to Parker that so many people came, including Cincinnati Reds 2nd baseman Skip Schumacher for taking time to give a wonderful message about being a good person. He certainly lives up to his words... We will be rooting for the Reds this year!.
Our PJ was a beloved and incredibly generous boy who left us far too soon, but thanks in part to the support and generosity of individuals, businesses and community leaders, his legacy will live on. We are very humbled and pleased to share that, through bidding on silent auction baskets, sales of raffle tickets, and ticket sales for the golf tournament and luncheon, $20,000 was raised in his honor. The Parker James Ramirez Foundation is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization and uses these funds to help families in need by donating food, clothing, blankets, back packs with school supplies and gift cards to help foster children & teens, that were near and dear to PJ’s generous heart and ensure that his legacy will live on…
Many people contributed time and effort to this event, but special thanks to Mark Beythoun, Brad Vaughan, Jeff Jackson, Erika Schulte and Gina Schuman for their efforts over and above to help make this a successful event. We have heard from many people that they can hardly wait until next year’s event.
All the best,
Jon & Kerri Ramirez
